YAY!! Yesterday I talked about not being insured and the stress of that and today Matt was offered a position at Loyola. Health insurance will kick in June 1 for both of us. This is wonderful. If there were medicare for all this wouldn’t have been an issue. Of course, we both still need jobs but the concern over wether or not we will be able to take care of ourselves during a pandemic, or any other time for that matter, wouldn’t exist. We have to do better as a country in caring more about one another. The saying “people over profits” is used a lot but it means something. In most cases of injustice, it is profit that comes before the safety and needs of the people. Many in the conservative right-wing claim to be christian and overlook this basic principle. I grew up as an evangelical christian. There is a bible verse that I wish the conservative “christians” would remember.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.1 Timothy 6:10
I made vegan breakfast sammies today with beyond breakfast sausage, just egg, hashbrowns, violife cheese, and english muffins. They were super good and I ate wayyyy too much.
I posted a a few videos from Ok Go. I was really enjoying watching them all. The most recent video was two years ago. That is, until yesterday! Ok Go put out a new video they made from their homes and I love it.
